MeToo

Fear not. Luckily, I am not one of the girls who’s been thoroughly victimized by a man and this is not a post to draw attention to my woes. Rather, this is to turn eyes and educate minds on what MeToo was actually started for and how its meaning has been vehemently bargained in the last one year. Before getting right into the evolution of the movement, I would like to divulge a few details about the actual roots of this movement because in the recent developments related to the movement and the kind of movements I see Metoo ushered into, I feel there is a tremendous need to educate the masses, boys and girls alike to know the actual meaning of the movement before opening their blabbering lips and muttering bombastic words out aloud. The initiation of this umungous movement was officially on Oct 5, 2017 when reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey pressed charges of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein, the executive producer blaming him of harassment and paying out eight settleme...

Caught Unawares!

DO you remember Asifa? DO you remember the horrible description of the way that her life was brought to an end being flashed on the television day in and day out for about a fortnight? Do you remember the people involved? Do you remember the last name of the young boy who committed suicide a few weeks ago just because he was apparently a percent short of attendance? Do you remember Kangana Ranaut and a bunch of other celebrities shouting their lungs out the last year trying to fix a very first-hand problem prevalent in any industry-nepotism? No, you don't. Because, that is the religion of the general public-self induced amnesia. We tend to follow everything blindly, do everything just because a bunch of no-brainers just like us are doing that thing. Logic has gone on a long vacation to NowhereLand and all that our minds are left with is a sheer prejudice that clouds out judgement and makes us fooler than ever. Everything has become a trend and every major problem has been reduced ...

Those dancing feet could be theirs

If you dance in the rain, you ought to get wet. You cannot do something and not bear it's consequence. I have seen this in my own life. Yes, my very life has been testimonial to the words I speak tonight. It's very easy to comment upon something, to say what is good to be done but to do it is difficult. That is very difficult, indeed. Life, according to me, is not about being good or bad. It never has been so. Life is all about change. That's the only constant thing in all our lives. We constantly become different persons, sometimes so different that we can't even unite ourselves to the person we were before. And we become different and thereby evolve as more matured and prudent by virtue of the choices we make in life. Life, actually, is all a matter of choices, a hierarchy of priorities. It's very easy to dub someone wrong when their priorities don't match with our's bit one must not forget that we might never understand a person completely unless we ha...

People...Live First!

I have opened the blog for quite a while now but have never posted anything. Actually I wanted to start on a day when I really had something to write and today, I do have something in my mind: something that is eating up my head and not allowing me to have a second’s peace. Why do people live in the company of each other when there is nothing to live for? And then they will always make you realize that they are doing it for you, for their future generation. Why to have all the show off when nothing actually remains? There was once a dialogue in a Hindi serial, Uttaran that most of the relationships on which we depend so much have no emotions attached to them-no love or mutual respect. There is just the nameplate and people are afraid to put the nameplate off as they think that that would be harmful to their so called reputation. I, in my own life have seen a lot of such relationships around me which practically have nothing in them and still they are together trying to amend old foll...
